Nearly everything a dealership does with keys can be done at the roadside, and a good deal of it faster. We cut and program keys and fobs at the vehicle, open doors without damage, and get broken keys out of ignitions and door locks. What we need from you first is the year, make, and model, because that decides which equipment goes in the van.
The exception worth naming honestly: a small number of newer vehicles use systems that only the manufacturer can access, and a handful of makes lock key data behind dealer-only servers. If yours is one of them we will tell you on the phone rather than after arriving and charging you for the trip.

Vehicle lockouts
Doors opened without damaging the weather seal, the glass, or the lock, including cars left running with the keys inside.
Broken key extraction
Snapped keys removed from ignitions and door locks, and the lock checked afterwards so the next key does not do the same.
Transponder keys cut and programmed
The chipped keys most vehicles from the late 1990s onward need. Cutting alone will open the door but will not start the engine, and both are done at the car.
Remote fobs and proximity keys
Supplied, cut where there is a blade, and programmed to the vehicle. Bring the working key if you still have one, it usually makes the job quicker.
All keys lost
A new key originated for a vehicle with nothing left to copy. It takes longer and needs proof of ownership, but it is routine work and it does not need a flatbed.
Ignition problems
Worn ignition cylinders that no longer turn, or turn with any key. Often mistaken for an electrical fault and often mechanical.

This is a key origination job rather than a lockout. Have your ownership or insurance documents and photo identification ready.
The key turns in the door but not the ignition
Usually a worn ignition cylinder rather than a key problem, and it is fixable at the roadside in most cases.
The fob has stopped working since a battery change
Sometimes a reprogram, sometimes a seated battery contact. Worth a call before buying a replacement fob online.
You need a spare before you need it
A second key cut and programmed while you still have the first is the cheapest version of this job by a wide margin.

Photo identification and proof the vehicle is yours: an ownership document, an insurance slip, or a rental or lease agreement in your name. We ask every time, for every customer, including the ones who are certain and in a hurry.

Can you make a car key if I have lost all of them?
For most makes, yes. We originate a new key at the vehicle, cut it, and program it to the immobiliser, so there is no tow to a dealership. Give us the year, make, and model when you call and we will confirm whether your vehicle is one of the few we cannot key.
Is a locksmith cheaper than the dealership for a car key?
Usually, and the bigger saving is often the tow and the day without the vehicle, because we come to the car. We quote the whole job on the phone so you can compare it against a dealer quote before committing.
Will opening my car damage the door or the seal?
Not when it is done properly. Vehicle entry is non-destructive work, and the tools are chosen for the specific door rather than forced past a seal that then leaks in the first rain.
Do you program key fobs and proximity keys?
Yes, for most makes. If you still have one working key, bring it, since many vehicles program a second key considerably faster with an existing one present.
My key snapped in the ignition. What should I not do?
Do not try to fish it out with pliers or a screwdriver and do not force the remaining half. Both turn a quick extraction into a replaced ignition cylinder. Leave it and call.
